Killer RC shows us a sneak peak of something new

Killer RC has something new and fresh being added to their already hot Losi 5IVE-T product line and HPI Baja product line. A tipster sent in this link to the Killer RC forum today and from what the forum says the new item is on the left.  Not much other news but I guess it could be a super cool light control of some sort or a new and improved kill switch or who knows, a flying machine adapter for your Losi 5IVE-T? Either way you can bet we will report on it and TGN will be carrying it ASAP.

Having some fun with the Losi 5IVE-T Brushless indoors

Some times all the hustle and bustle around our shop we just have stop and enjoy. So we strapped a couple fresh 4s Kypom packs in our newly brushless SkoPod converted Losi 5IVE-T. It was late and dark outside so we decided to use our back half of the shop (where our new indoor track is going in) as a playground for this beast of a machine.

I was driving the Losi while SkoPod was filming. In order for my blind eyes to hit the small ramp I was back behind the takeoff point so it was difficult to adjust for my landings as I had limited view. But it was amazing what this truck can do in such a short distance. The control we had in the air via brake and throttle was equivalent to the crazy 1/10 stuff out there. It was a trip to be able to throw a 1/5 scale electric around like that.

The control and power in a converted brushless large scale is simply amazing. It may not be everyones cup of tea but man is it fun. The potential for a serious track machine is beyond anything in gas. It could really make for a great show on a race track.

Pro-Line Blockade Tire for 1/5 Scale HPI Baja and Losi 5IVE-T

We just got this sneak peak photo of a new Blockade tire from Pro-Line Racing. This one is designed to fit the HPI Baja 5SC and 5T and it will also fit the rims on the Losi 5IVE-T. Foam inserts are not included so you’ll have to use the ones out of your stock tires. Special webbing inside the tire increase durability and traction. The tire compound that will be used is to be determined.

Pocket Electric Screw Driver

I am not sure how anyone EVER went without these tools. Gone are the days of lugging around a full size power drill. These are a MUST HAVE for any large scale car or truck owner. Especially great for the 4 cage screws on the Losi 5IVE-T, makes removal QUICK! Check them out HERE.

Hex Power Bits

These are the best.  Inser these into smaller hand tools with interchangeable tips or use them in your drill or power screw drivers.

Hex Extension

Need that extra reach? The 6″ and 12″ extension by Milwaukee will come in very handy at times. Especially on the HPI Baja were sometimes you have to get the tool between a cage or chassis part. The 12″ version is HERE and the 6″ is HERE.

Keyless chuck for your Compact Hex Driver

This is a useful item that is often difficult to find at your local hardware store. It turns your compact power hex driver/screw driver into a drill. Allowing you to insert standard drill bits to drill out stubborn screws or drill your new shock pistons. Very useful and simple tool. Find those HERE.

Small Hole Drilling Adapter

Can’t get your small drill bits inside your monster hand drill or drill press chuck? Check out this little life saver. Works great for drilling small holes in shock pistons. It securely holds a #99 (0.0051″) to #60 (0.040″) wire gauge drill bit. Get yours HERE.

Thin head open end 13mm wrench

These little guys are strong and very useful on those pesky front and rear shock mounts on the Losi 5IVE-T. They allow you to hold the mount down while using a second wrench or socket driver to remove the nut holding onto the shock end. Available HERE.

Metric Cushion T-Handled Hex Wrenches

These have been one of our most popular items for some time now. One of my favorite things about these that we have never really promoted is that if they are ever showing wear and you want a fresh tip. TeamChase Steering Set-Up for the Losi 5IVE-T

Check this out. TeamChase is on fire this week. Showing off yet another new Losi 5IVE-T products in the video below.

There are a couple issues with the Losi 5IVE-T steering set-up. One of them mentioned in this video below talks about the steel and steel concerning possible binding. TeamChase fixes this issue buy using bushings and bearings with this new strong set-up.

The other issue is the stock hardware included with the truck uses these special made screws that have a very short threaded section. The short thread does not even allow for the full capture within the plastic part they screw into. The forces and vibration in the steering of this large scale truck creates a lot of issues and one of them being right on these screws. It’s common to see these screws strip or pull completely out of the plastic arm they screw into. Not only leaving you with no steering and often a lost screw but the plastic is ruined and will no longer allow for the screw to stay in place. An expensive and time consuming fix. The TeamChase custom long hardware and nylock nuts fixes this problem perfectly.

It seems the chassis flex on the Losi 5IVE-T has been all the talk lately. It’s not an issue affecting everyone nor is an issue that keeps someone from enjoying their new 1/5 scale. But for racers and the serious driver, tuning the suspension set-up and eliminating any unwanted flex is key. So for those drivers, the large scale specialist at TeamChase has come to the rescue with their No Flex chassis for the Losi 5IVE-T.

This is more of a spy shot than anything and the products details as far as price and ETA are not available yet. But you can bet LSN will keep you posted once we know more.

Bartolone Racing Losi 5IVE-T Mesh Plate

Check out these spy shots that Billet posted on RCLargeScale of the newest part coming from Bartolone Racing. Looks like its going to be called a mesh plate which appears to create additional strength and stiffening between the engine and center differential area.

Owners of the Losi 5IVE-T have been complaining about the flex in the chassis which is allowing the metal spur gear to hit the clutch housing near the bearing that supports the pinion gear. This part looks like it will possibly relieve this issues. Which is sure to make 5IVE-T owners happy.
